SINOSURE Hosts Its First Overseas Capacity Building Workshop for ECA Peers

On June 24, 2025, SINOSURE partnered with the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand) to host a capacity building workshop for peer institutions from southeast Asian countries (SINOSURE-EXIM Thailand Capacity Building Workshop 2025) in Bangkok.

As China's sole policy-oriented insurance company and the world's largest export credit agency (ECA), SINOSURE actively engages in capacity-building initiatives with international counterparts and contributes to global industry governance.

This workshop marks SINOSURE's first large-scale overseas event of its kind. After the 2024 Seminar on ECA Capacity Building for English-Speaking African Countries held in Beijing, it represents another innovative effort to strengthen ECA capabilities in Belt and Road Initiative countries.

In his address, Xu Xinwei, Vice President of SINOSURE, emphasized that while advancing its own development, SINOSURE also aims to share its experience, enhance industry exchanges, foster mutual growth in export credit insurance with ASEAN partners, so as to promote common prosperity of economy, trade and investment for neighboring countries.

During the event, representatives from SINOSURE and EXIM Thailand delivered knowledge sharings, covering topics including innovative development, supply chain underwriting, credit services, and Southeast Asian market environment.

Attendees were representatives from ECAs, governmental departments, and financial institutions across eight Asian nations, including EXIM Thailand, Export-Import Bank of Indonesia (LPEI), Bank Indonesia, Central Bank of Myanmar, Bank of Lao PDR, and Asian Development Bank. The workshop provided a good opportunity for the participants to learn from the themed presentations, exchange information, enhance industry knowledge, and explore ways for development.
